Web Hosting FAQs

  • I just signed up for hosting, and the domain name that I registered with WebTemplateHosting.com isn't displaying my site. Why?
    Domain name registrations take anywhere from 24-72 hours for all root nameservers on the net to be updated. In the meantime, you can use the "temporary url" that we've assigned you (available in your "Welcome" email, or via your control panel) to view your site.
  • I have made the change to my DNS records, and changed my nameserver records to point to WebTemplateHosting.com, but when I go to my website address, it still points to my old site. Why?
    As with Domain Name Registration, it takes some time for the updated DNS record information to propagate to all the nameservers. This takes up to 72 hours to do.
  • I transferred my files up to my web-space, but my website isn't displaying.
    Be sure to make the "remote directory" location the "httpdocs" folder. If you do not, then your files will upload into an area of your web account that isn't visible from the web.
  • Why don't you offer FrontPage Extensions?
    There are a number of reasons, but the primary one is this: Microsoft doesn't support them any longer, which makes in hard for us to be able to support them should there be a problem with them. Another reason is because FrontPage extension enabled features in FrontPage tend to bloat the code in the page, so even if we could offer them, we would encourage you to not use those features. We know what is best for your website's SEO, and FrontPage navigation is a big-no-no.
